So, you and your l33t team have managed to wittle down your opponents entire team to one man. You've taken some losses yourself, however, and you only have two guys to work with. Its a delicate situation. You definately have the upperhand, but a few stupid mistakes and you can easily blow the lead. One paintball match, Ironmen v. Dynasty had one Dynasty member up against 3 Ironmen. The Ironmen, overly confident, charged straight at the Dynasty player who nailed all three of them and walked away victorious. This is precisely the situation you want to avoid.
You're one of the two.
The way to win is pretty simplistic. Don't do anything crazy or stupid, play like you have been playing the whole game (if you've gotten rid of the rest of this guy's team, you've obviously been doing something right). Stay behind cover, be careful when moving, etc. Yet you will have to make an adjustment or two. First of all, you will probably have to play more aggressively (since your opponent will be on defense). Secondly, you want to go ahead and spread out, one man on each flank. Obviously your opponent can't be shooting both ways at once, so this situation is optimum. Also, spreading out will make it easier for you to cover eachother, which is essential. If your opponent pops out to shoot at you or your teammate, the other one should start laying paint into him. Moreover, spreading out will prevent your opponent from making a quick shift of targets ( i.e. he nails you, aims 5 feet to the left and nails your teammate).
So lets look at some ways to advance down the field. The easiest way is the Pin and Pinch method. One of you shoots and pins your opponent down, the other moves up. Then he pins your opponent down, and you move up. Eventually, you're opponent will be totally outflanked, and you should have no trouble nailing him. Remember to be careful when doing this. Be sure your opponent is thoroughly pinned and then quickly move up and start firing immediatly.
Next there's the Decoy method. This method (in my opinion) is less effective, unless you know there's a pretty good chance that your opponent is better than both of you. Its incredibly simple. Both of you line up on each side of your opponent (just a bit back from where his bunker is). Countdown 3...2...1... One of you breaks hard as if you were doing a bunker-move or run-by on your opponent, except you just run as fast as possible and try not to get shot (rather than trying to shoot your opponent). AT THE EXACT SAME TIME (it is important that it is the same time so that if he gets one of you he wont be able to turn around and get the other), the other one of you runs around behind and shoots him. If by chance your opponent shifts his direction of fire away from the decoy, the decoy can easily turn around and shoot him in the back.
Next there's the Shamez Sweet Shot named for the Sea Creatures team member Shamez Hemani. This method is perfect if you think your opponent is gonna try and break away. One of you plants yourself in the middle, slightly to the left of the guy's bunker to stop him from pushing up or running. The other swings far right, not rushing, just trying to get a good position on your opponent. If your opponent turns and starts shooting him, you run straight and bunker him close up on his left while your right side teammate also lays paint down. Chances are your opponent will have no place to go, and you're bound to get him.
There's always the Double Run-By method. Each of you runs up one side and nails your opponent with bonus balls. 'nuff said.
You're the one...
CRAP. You're clown-ass team had to go get themselves shot and left two of them and just one of you. But thats okay. You've got skills. Monster skills. Okay, so lets get real, you're probably screwed. If they're any good, there's a pretty good chance they're going to get you. But there are a few things you can do that might help you pull off a miracle.
If they're charging up on you in a straight line and trying to pin you down and then bunker you, pop out and fire as many shots as you can before ducking back in. Hopefully you hit something.
If you see that they're trying to come up on either side of you, pop out, nail one, and after you do, run towards where he was. This will put you behind the other guy, and give you the perfect opportunity to get him. This is pretty much the bread and butter strategy. It combines a bit of defense with a bit of offense, and it will help you even the odds.
If they're playing overly defensive and you've got a clock on your match, try crawling or sprinting so that they dont see you. If you can, do your best to pin both down at once. In this situation it doesn't look to good, but you're going to have to be aggressive. Pin one down and take him out and then go up on the other.
Combine offense and defense. Essentially, your goal is to divide in conquer. Take out one and then take out the other. You have to anticipate what they're going to try and do and prepare for it. Be flexible, thats the only way to victory. Do your best to get one, move, and then get the other.
Its kind of a win-win situation for you. You get shot, no one thinks any less of you because the odds were against you. If you take both out though, you're the freaking MVP.
